The Cowboys are the second-place team in the division behind Washington (6-9), which holds the head-to-head tiebreaker by virtue of a season series sweep. It’s been mostly a rough first season under coach Mike McCarthy, tied to losing quarterback Dak Prescott for the season in Week 5. That game was against the Giants in Dallas. Now the Cowboys will play the rematch in New York with a trip to the NFC playoffs potentially on the line....

The seemingly mundane video garnered plenty of attention, and even praise. In the fourth quarter of the team’s Thanksgiving game vs. the Giants, tight end Peyton Hendershot scored a touchdown on a 2-yard jet sweep. To celebrate, Jake Ferguson, Sean McKeon and Dalton Schultz all hopped in the giant red Salvation Army kettle in back of the end zone and played a human-size game of whack-a-mole. The boy was on a walk with his family at Prospect Point in Stanley Park when a coyote “lunged and bit him on the leg” at around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service said. The boy’s parents chased the coyote away, the agency said, and took him to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The agency said it was investigating the attack. It also urged the public to avoid Stanley Park due to the “high risk of encountering an aggressive coyote....

Long-haulers are also referred to as people with “chronic COVID” or “long COVID." Congress approved tens of billions in funds six months ago to be distributed to renters at risk of eviction. The funds are being distributed at a slow pace in many states over red tape such as bureaucratic obstacles and a lack of federal guidance. The pharmaceutical company this week revealed that its existing COVID-19 vaccine, mRNA-1273, which was approved for use in the U.S. by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last month, could offer protection against two new fast-spreading variants of the virus, the B.1.1.7 strain and the B.1.351 strain.
