His son, Craig Sager Jr., shared a touching video tribute on Twitter in honor of his father.

“Time is simply how you live your life. We packed a lifetime and then some into these 28 years together. Pay it forward time! #SagerStrong,”  Sager Jr. wrote.

Sager battled acute myeloid leukemia since 2014 and went into remission after a bone marrow transplant, but the the disease returned in March 2015.

He had just been inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
